Job Description

This position provides internal and franchisee communications support for the Buffalo Wild Wings Sports Bar brand, leading communications efforts for the brand’s nearly 1,200+ U.S. sports bars, franchisees, and support center teams. They serve as a partner for the BWW Sports Bar leadership team, helping guide messaging development and communication to team members, franchisees, and restaurant teams. They are also the primary communications partner for cross-functional brand and shared services partners to prepare communications to internal and franchisee audiences, such as newsletters and standalone communications. This position also leads content development for large-scale brand conferences and conventions, as well as town halls and other brand meetings. 

 

This individual also manages the BWW GO Internal and Franchisee Communications Associate Manager, providing strategic guidance on GO communications efforts and ensuring alignment between the GO and Sports Bar brands where applicable.  

 

Ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, has strong writing skills and ability to capture the brand voice, has had direct experience supporting executive leadership, and can provide strategic communications guidance to cross-functional teams. This position directly supports the Buffalo Wild Wings team and is part of a shared services communications team supporting Inspire, Arby’s, Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin’, Jimmy John’s, and Sonic. 

 

This position is based in the Atlanta Global Support Center. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement brand internal communication strategies and programs that engage, inspire, and align team members with the brand’s vision, priorities, and key initiatives. 

• Lead content strategy for brand meetings and events, including annual conventions.  

•  Work closely with select leaders across Shared Services leaders, and brand leaders, on communications, including newsletters, announcements, and talking points. 

• Manage the BWW GO Communications Associate Manager 

• Collaborate with other Managers across the Inspire Communications team to coordinate communication of large-scale communications initiatives.  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year Degree and/or Bachelor's in Communications/Journalism or related field
  • 5 plus years of experience in internal communications or public relations experience in a corporate or agency environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES

• Skilled and versatile writer in various formats, including speechwriting, memos, talking points, presentations, communications plans, and newsletters. 

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the demonstrated ability to turn complex ideas into stories and visual concepts easily understood by a broad audience 

• Demonstrated creativity and proactivity to generate excitement and celebration around the brand’s core narratives 

• Flexible and resilient problem solver with the ability to build broad-based consensus and manage sensitive situations.  

• Ability to learn and respond quickly to organizational needs, demonstrating resiliency in various situations, adapting quickly to changing needs of the business. 

 Experience working directly with senior executives, proven track record of inspiring and engaging stakeholder audiences. 

• Hospitality or retail experience a plus
