Bartender — Job Description

At Black Rock Bar & Grill, the bar is the heartbeat of the restaurant. As a Bartender, you deliver a full‑service experience that blends personality, precision, and genuine hospitality. You connect with Guests the moment they sit down—learning what brings them in, guiding them through our beverage offerings, and recommending cocktails, wines, and pairings that enhance their sizzling‑rock meal.

You craft cocktails with consistency, maintain a clean and organized bar, and ensure every Guest receives attentive service from greeting to farewell. You manage bar Guests, support servers with drink orders, and keep service flowing smoothly during busy shifts. You educate, entertain, and engage—turning every visit into a memorable one.

Your ability to balance speed, accuracy, and authentic conversation is what makes the Black Rock bar experience exceptional.

What You Bring to the Table

• Full‑service hospitality skills — You provide attentive, personalized service to bar Guests from start to finish.
• Bartending experience — Minimum 6 months of recent bartending experience; you’re confident behind the bar.
• Craftsmanship — You mix, shake, pour, and garnish with consistency and care.
• Guest connection — Friendly, enthusiastic, and able to build quick rapport with Guests.
• Menu knowledge — You learn our cocktails, wines, beers, and food menu to guide Guests confidently.
• Team‑first attitude — You support servers, help manage bar tickets, and maintain strong communication.

IT ALL STARTED 35 YEARS AGO WITH TWO GUYS DRIVEN BY HUNGER
The year was 1982.
Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery had recently moved to Ohio from Buffalo, New York. All was fine until one day when the two were craving wings. Not just ordinary wings, but authentic Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings. With none to be found nearby, Jim and Scott had two choices: road trip to New York, or open a wing joint close to home. Lucky for us, they chose the latter.
